Let's Meet - Coffee or Tea on Me!

About Me.

Hello there! My name is Amber. However you found my page, I am glad you are here. I have personally felt the crippling effects of anxiety - an overwhelming sense of being consistently "out of control". I know what it is like to be sick to your stomach on a regular basis. I understand shaky hands, mental shutdown and experiencing debilitating panic attacks BUT what is the worst feeling of all...not knowing why it is happening, and what to do about it.

When my symptoms were at their peak, anxiety was not a trending topic. It wasn't talked about. So, at that time, I just didn't know what was wrong with me. All I knew was I felt really “off”. I even asked my mom one day, "Mom, what is wrong with me?", “Something is wrong with me”. What I didn't realize was my body was speaking for me, it was giving me warning signs of unresolved emotions, memories and thoughts that needed to be worked out and understood. The good thing is, through a series of events, I was able to find help. I no longer was scared of my own feelings or emotions, I learned to listen to my body, how to communicate better and understand myself more. I felt more in control. I found out how to manage anxious thoughts, rather than being scared of the onset of symptoms.

You see, I don't believe anxiety is a disease, but I do believe anxiety over the long term can have consequences. Unhealthy patterns in our bodies and our own habits to alleviate them, both have the possibility to cause significant damage and yes,  even lead to disease.  Based on my own research, I stand with other holistic professionals, in that anxiety is a pattern of our brain that can be reset. With time and practice, we can gain traction over our tendency for anxiety and its symptoms.

Education/Experience

BA in Psychology

GCU 2023

I pursued my degree with coaching in mind. I intend to keep growing in my education but this was the foundation set. I received an A+ on my Capstone Project titled "Mindset Over Medication". Neuroscience was of greatest interest to me!

Health Coach Institute

2022

In 2011, as I was traveling in Brazil doing volunteer work, I went to a church and was first introduced to the idea of coaching, long before its popularity. I believed in it because it put the power in the persons hands, they were the expert and as a coach , you came along side them to draw out their own answers. I loved this!
